Scenic Picture, Yes...It is the Columbia River Gorge at Hood River, Oregon.   On the Northside is Washington State and South is Oregon.  To the West is Portland, Oregon and our home for more than 40 years.  East of Portland at the West end of the Gorge is area called "East County" compising the cities of Troutdale, Gresham, Fairview. At one time this was very rural and mostly small farms and out of the city "way of life".  In 1969 I was elected to the Oregon Legislature and served there until 1977...four terms,  shortly after that great experience and privilege our family moved to Arizona.  We traded the damp cold for the dry hot.  Retired, not exactly, but we did sell the real estate company I had started and built to four offices dealing in mostly residential homes in the Eastern areas of Portland.  We sold our 11 acre home near Mt Hood Community College and started a new adventure with our four children in Arizona.  So like so many people living in Arizona we moved for the sun, outdoor year around living in yet another beauty spot.   Now you know a little more ot the story.   Harvey Looking back, the start of Oregon going GREEN.
